PCD and CBN indexable inserts
PCD tools for internal and external machining

Polycrystalline diamond (PCD) has superior hardness and wear resistance for dry and wet processing. In addition, PCD is characterized by a good heat dissipation from the cutting area.

Typical applications PCD indexable inserts:

Dry and wet machining of aluminum and aluminum alloys, copper, brass, bronze, zinc, magnesium alloys, silver, gold, pre-sintered cemented carbide, sintered carbide, plastics, rubber, titanium alloys, ceramics, glass fiber composites (GRP), carbon fiber composites (CFRP) ,

Cubic boron nitride (CBN), whose hardness is surpassed only by diamond, has been developed to machine materials that cannot be machined with PCD or monocrystalline diamond. Unlike PCD and monocrystalline diamond, CBN does not react with the carbide formers present in these materials. Nor is the heat generated when turning or milling a problem for CBN, since this cutting material only reacts with oxygen from a temperature of about 1200 °C and thus has an extremely high thermal hardness.

Typical applications CBN indexable inserts:

Main applications are ferrous materials with hardnesses from approx. 45 HRC (hard turning), duplex steel, chromium chilled cast iron (EN-JN), gray cast iron (EN-GJL), nodular cast iron (EN-GJS), white cast iron (EN-GJL-250), Nickel-resist (EN-GJSA) and cobalt or iron based wear alloys and nickel base alloys.

Various variants of PCD and CBN indexable inserts such as Disposable inserts, reusable indexable inserts as well as longitudinal, cornered or full-face inserts are available from stock. Form-indexable inserts and special plates are available as per drawing.
